Neutrino physics at accelerators
Present and future neutrino experiments at accelerators are mainly concerned with understanding the neutrino oscillation phenomenon and its implications. Here a brief account of neutrino oscillations is given together with a description of the supporting data. Some current and planned accelerator neutrino experiments are also explained.
متن کاملPhysics Needs for Future Accelerators
The title assigned to this talk, while certainly both eye-catching and pithy, does not make any literal sense in English. “Physics needs for future accelerators” is a phrase which could be interpreted in any number of ways, leading to very different sorts of talks. Letme begin, therefore, by briefly describing the roads not taken in my review. This will allow me to mention some important issues...
متن کاملCosmic Particle Accelerators: Summary
We review the main ideas discussed during the meeting and propose methods for a new generation of space accelerators
متن کاملReview of Non - Commutative Geometric Methods Applied to Particle Physics
This is a brief review where some basic elements of non-commutative geometry are given. The rules and ingredients that enter in the construction of the standard model and grand unification models in non-commutative geometry are summarized. A connection between some space-time supersymmetric theories and non-commutative geometry is made. The advantages and prolems of this direction are discussed.
متن کاملSemiclassical geons at particle accelerators
We point out that in certain four-dimensional extensions of general relativity constructed within the Palatini formalism stable self-gravitating objects with a discrete mass and charge spectrum may exist. The incorporation of nonlinearities in the electromagnetic field may effectively reduce their mass spectrum by many orders of magnitude. As a consequence, these objects could be within (or nea...
